This is important because it means your fingers are getting a more consistent and reliable grip than that of standard rifle grips. The Enhanced Foregrip has grooves all along the main curve and on the back of the grip. This allows for more consistency when your hands are wet or while wearing gloves. The grooves and the flat wall on the back section of the EFG allow for more stability in unconventional shooting positions and on barricades. The hook on the bottom of the EFG helps maintain a consistent placement of your hand without the risk of slippage during sustained fire. The hook also benefits the end-user when utilizing barricades to help capture and stabilize the firearm.

The ESD sling has a new updated elastic regulator preventing webbing from twisting or jamming when adjusting. This elastic has a natural pull tab that allows the sling to be folded upon itself and stored tightly on the weapon system. Every curve, every angle, every feature on the ESD Magwell is intentional and aligns with our mission to enhance a shooter’s capabilities using human-centered design. The ESD Sap Bucket is our solution to all the problems our team and our end users experience with dump pouches.

The angles on the outside of the ESD Magwell flow seamlessly with that of your firearm and create a nice shelf for your hand while simultaneously not creating any hot spots. What is currently available is in stock and will ship within one to five days. Mounting hardware to rifles such as ESD paracord guides, QD swivels, HK hooks, etc. purchased separately.

From the angle of the ESD EFG to the width, it’s made with human-centered design in mind. The width of the Enhanced Foregrip fits perfectly with the length of the proximal flange of a user’s hand. The ESD Magwell is proudly manufactured with the help of our good friends at Parker Mountain Machine. We want to support American manufacturing as well as our local community at every opportunity, so for us, this partnership was a no-brainer. For us, It’s important to not only source a quality product but also work with a company we trust to maintain strict quality standards at every step of the manufacturing process.

We offer a highly professional and personal approach backed by over 20 years of experience with residential and commercial construction. The Edgar Sherman Design Sling, ESD Sling, was designed with purpose, research, extreme testing, and a collection of user experiences. The ESD Sling is highly customizable to any rifle, sub-gun, shotgun, hunting rifle, bolt action, and PDW weapon system. The ESD Sling features an elastic regulator that allows the sling to stow against the side of your rifle. We specialize in ground-up construction as well as additions, renovations, and remodels.

Treat all firearms as if they are loaded and ensure you have properly cleared your firearm before installing the ESD Glock Magwell. The Edgar Sherman Design Sling, ESD Sling, was designed with purpose, research extreme testing, and experience. A rear adjustment section to fit the ESD sling to your body size and additional gear. The ESD Sling adjustment system is more adaptable to natural body movement and body mechanics.

The ESD Enhanced Foregrip or EFG  for short was designed to ease end-users’ ability to control their rifle, mitigate recoil, and have faster, more accurate follow-through. From the angle of the EFG to the width, it’s made with a human-centered design in mind. Its angle allows your wrist to be better aligned with your forearm thus strengthening your overall grip. The width of the EFG fits perfectly with the length of the proximal phalanges of a user’s hand.

Your gold, elixir, and dark elixir stores should be placed outside of the core of your base. This will make it more difficult for attackers to steal these valuable resources. Be sure to surround them with walls and place defensive structures around them as well. Defensive buildings are the cornerstone of any solid base layout. As you upgrade your Town Hall level, you will unlock more defensive structures with greater strength and hit points. It is important to place these in strategic positions so that they can cover each other’s blind spots while also maximizing the range of their attacks.

Additionally, make sure that your walls are connected properly so enemy troops cannot easily access any valuable buildings. At these levels, your base design should focus on keeping enemy troops away from your Town Hall and other important buildings. To do this, you can use a funneling technique where the enemy troops will be forced to walk around the perimeter of your base in order to reach any valuable buildings. Additionally, make sure that all of your defensive structures are properly upgraded so they can provide maximum protection for your village. The outer ring should be filled with defensive structures like cannons, archer towers, wizard towers, and air defense buildings. These base layouts are strategically crafted to withstand various attack strategies employed by opponents.

Properly flair posts.

By following these guidelines, you’ll be able to build a base that is both effective and aesthetically pleasing. For a successful trophy base, keep the Town Hall in a central position and surround it with strong defensive buildings such as cannons, archer towers, and wizard towers. Place traps at strategic points around the base— these can be spring traps, giant bombs, or seeking air mines.

In Clash of Clans, reaching Town Hall 14 is a major milestone, signaling a new era of challenges and opportunities. As you ascend to this prestigious level, the importance of a solid base layout cannot be overstated. The Best COC TH14 Base Layouts are your key to fortifying your village against relentless attacks and ensuring the safety of your hard-earned resources. The walls of your base are the first line of defense against enemy attacks. The most important factor when choosing the right wall setup is to make sure that it is difficult for troops to navigate through and reach their destination. A good design will have high-level walls around the perimeter, with strategically placed openings or choke points.

At the TH13 level you will get access to 3 additional buildings (Royal Champion Altar and 2 x Scattershot). Stay tuned for future episodes of Blueprint, as we continue to bring you the best bases for Clash of Clans. You may not request base-layouts and/or armies unless you're doing so in a comment to the request megathreads posted every 2 weeks.

A trophy base is designed to prevent enemy attackers from taking trophies and thus climbing up the leaderboard. It should be built with walls, traps, and defensive structures arranged in a way that makes it difficult for an attacker to find their way around. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of a base layout can also depend on the current meta and popular attack strategies. As the Clash of Clans landscape evolves with updates and balance changes, staying informed about the latest trends is crucial for maintaining a formidable defense.

The Eagle Artillery, Town Hall, and Monolith are placed apart so they’re not all targeted at once. There’s a spell tower with a Rage Spell positioned in front of the Town Hall, which can be switched to an Invisibility Spell if needed. Make sure that you spread out your defensive structures such as Cannons, Mortars, and Air Defenses to maximize their effectiveness against enemy troops. This will make it harder for attackers to overwhelm them with a single attack. You also want to remember to prevent 50 percent destruction since that is the minimum requirement for an attacker to score stars. This can be done by spreading out your buildings and not having them clustered in one area.

The Best COC TH14 Base Layouts serve as a shield for your village, strategically placing defensive structures, walls, and traps to create a formidable defense against adversaries. These layouts often feature a balanced distribution of defensive units, ensuring that no area of your base is left vulnerable to attacks. A well-planned base can help you protect your resources, increase troop production, and defend against enemy attacks. Fortunately, there are some tried and true strategies that apply to every Town Hall level in Clash of Clans.

Inside the new menu, tap on the War Base tab to access the War Base editing options that will allow you to change your base’s design. Among the most important mechanics to focus on in Clash of Clans is the base building mechanics. Your design shouldn’t just be pleasing to the eye, but it should also be effective to keep opponents from destroying it.

Best TH13 Base Layouts with Links 2024 Copy Town Hall Level 13 COC Bases

The most effective way to do this is by building a wall around your base and then filling in the gaps with defensive structures like Cannons and Archer Towers. You should also make sure that you are placing resource storages (Elixir Collectors, Gold Mines, and Dark Elixir Drills) inside the walls so that they are harder to steal. Coc base links allows you to seamlessly import village maps into your game’s layout editor with just one click.

BEST TH11 War Base

To protect the Town Hall, the base should also include walls, traps, and defensive towers. You can also choose an interchangeable layout, where you can easily switch between a hybrid and offensive base depending on the situation. At these levels, you should focus on adding more defensive structures like Wizard Towers and Air Defenses. Additionally, make sure that your walls are connected properly as this will help keep your village safe. You'll get all the info you need, like tips, comments, and even the builder's name.

House votes for possible TikTok ban but app won't go away soon Los Angeles Times

bacon social house

Members of both parties, along with intelligence officials, have worried that Chinese authorities could force ByteDance to hand over American user data or direct the company to suppress or boost TikTok content favorable to its interests. TikTok has denied assertions that it could be used as a tool of the Chinese government and has said it has not shared U.S. user data with Chinese authorities. Casino games can be a good entertainment option with delicious food. Gamers who expect real money may check the Echtgeld Casinos to find the best online casinos. Nadya Okamoto, a content creator who has roughly 4 million followers on TikTok, said she has been having conversations with other creators who are experiencing “so much anger and anxiety” about the bill and how it’s going to affect their lives.

TikTok may be banned in the U.S. Here’s what happened when India did it

bacon social house

Since mid-March, TikTok has spent $5 million on TV ads opposing the legislation, according to AdImpact, an advertising tracking firm. The ads have included a diverse group of content creators, including a nun, extolling the positive impacts of the platform on their lives and arguing a ban would trample on the 1st Amendment. The company has also encouraged its users to contact Congress, and some lawmakers have received profanity-laced calls. The company has good reason to think a legal challenge could be successful, having seen some success in previous legal fights over its operations in the U.S. In November, a federal judge blocked a Montana law that would ban TikTok use across the state after the company and five content creators who use the platform sued. Lexington Social House features a bar, a Club Room, a DIning Room and Garden Patio.

Congress is threatening to ban TikTok. Here’s what you should know

The House has passed legislation that would ban TikTok in the United States if the popular social media platform’s China-based owner doesn’t sell its stake within a year, but don’t expect the app to go away any time soon. He said he thinks there could have been less restrictive ways to go after the company that wouldn’t result in a total ban or threaten free speech. In 2020, federal courts blocked an executive order issued by then-President Trump to ban TikTok after the company sued on the grounds that the order violated free speech and due process rights. His administration brokered a deal that would have had U.S. corporations Oracle and Walmart take a large stake in TikTok. The sale never went through for a number of reasons; one was China, which imposed stricter export controls on its technology providers.

The House votes for possible TikTok ban in the U.S., but don’t expect the app to go away any time soon

But the ferocity of the pushback angered lawmakers on Capitol Hill, where there is broad concern about Chinese threats to the U.S. and where few members use the platform themselves. The decision by House Republicans to include TikTok as part of a larger foreign aid package, a priority for President Biden with broad congressional support for Ukraine and Israel, fast-tracked the ban after an earlier version had stalled in the Senate. A standalone bill with a shorter, six-month selling deadline passed the House in March by an overwhelming bipartisan vote as Democrats and Republicans voiced national security concerns about the app’s owner, the Chinese technology firm ByteDance Ltd.

Welcome to Lexington Social House

The 26-year-old, whose company, August, sells menstrual products and is known for her advocacy around destigmatizing menstrual periods, makes most of her income from TikTok. Dozens of states and the federal government have put in place TikTok bans on government devices. Texas’ ban was challenged last year by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, which argued in a lawsuit that the policy was impeding academic freedom because it extended to public universities.

Questions swirl over the future of TikTok. Who could own it? How will the platform operate?

Organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union have backed the app. “Congress cannot take away the rights of over 170 million Americans who use TikTok to express themselves, engage in political advocacy, and access information from around the world,” said Jenna Leventoff, a lawyer for the group.

Moreover, for guests seeking an added layer of entertainment and excitement, the inclusion of casino games at Lexington Social House adds a unique and exhilarating dimension to the overall experience. The bill’s quick path through Congress is extraordinary because it targets one company and because Congress has taken a hands-off approach to tech regulation for decades. Lawmakers had failed to act despite efforts to protect children online, safeguard users’ privacy and make companies more liable for content posted on their platforms, among other measures. But the TikTok ban reflects widespread concerns from lawmakers about China. TikTok has lobbied hard against the legislation, pushing the app’s 170 million U.S. users — many of whom are young — to call Congress and voice opposition.

From New York to Arizona: Inside the head-spinning week of Trump’s legal drama

The U.S. government has not publicly provided evidence that shows TikTok shared U.S. user data with the Chinese government or tinkered with the company’s popular algorithm, which influences what Americans see. The House’s overwhelming vote to ban TikTok unless it is freed from Chinese control suggests that a ban might be coming soon. The company has indicated that it would likely go to court to try to block the law if it passes, arguing it would deprive the app’s millions of users of their 1st Amendment rights.

3-year cruise for remote workers cancelled as organizers admit they have no ship

world cruise canceled

The company says it will refund passengers, who put down tens of thousands of dollars on the cruise as deposits. But that money won’t come quickly, as repayments will be made in monthly installments and won’t begin until next month. “We were on tour of Galilee region at Jordan River when we were all recalled to the ship,” writes CNSJ on Cruise Critic’s Holland America Line message boards.

In Warmer Climate, A Luxury Cruise Sets Sail Through Northwest Passage

Some cabins could host cats; travelers were also promised high-speed internet, free dining, alcohol and laundry service, and "enrichment seminars." When the cruise missed its planned departure date, the company promised to resolve lingering issues. They would spend roughly 300 days at sea, 795 days at port and have 413 overnight port stays, Chief Operating Officer Ethem Bayramoglu of Miray Cruises, the Turkish parent company of Life at Sea, said in that online session. On March 1, cruise line Miray International, which owns Life at Sea, officially started accepting bookings for the first-of-its-kind world voyage aboard its MV Gemini ship, but later decided that the vessel was too small for the cruise. The company’s website has not been updated as of Monday morning, and still has both a countdown to the start of the cruise and a link allowing people to reserve a cabin via wire transfer or credit card. "As we navigate these challenges, we are actively working on creating alternative plans for the future, ensuring an unforgettable experience for our valued community," it concluded.

The ship was originally scheduled to sail from Dubai to Athens on March 13, but will now circumnavigate Africa. "There’s a whole lot of people right now with nowhere to go, and some need their refund to even plan a place to go – it’s not good right now," one passenger told CNN. Passengers for the three-year voyage were informed Nov. 17 that the cruise was canceled. A three-year world cruise has been canceled less than two weeks before it was scheduled to set sail. Life at Sea had promised customers a renovated vessel with “world-class” amenities, including a business centre, a library, a 24-hour on-call hospital with free medical visits and education classes for adults.

Three-year cruise canceled weeks before shoving off, after one woman sold her apartment to join unique voyage

Some would-be cruise passengers were in Istanbul, where the ship was originally scheduled to depart from, when they received news of the cancellation, per CNN. Passengers who signed up for the headline-making voyage — which was originally due to depart from Istanbul, Turkey, on Nov. 1 and visit seven continents, 135 countries and 375 ports — received news of its cancellation on Nov. 17, CNN reported. “Miray is not such a big company to afford to pay 40–50 million for a ship,” said Vedat Ugurlu, owner of Miray, in a message to passengers. Just a day after Ugurlu's glimmer of hope, another staff member of Life at Sea, Chief Operating Officer Ethem Bayramoglu messaged passengers to confirm that the cruise was off.

All passengers booked on the three repositioning cruises have been, or are in the process of being, contacted directly or through their travel agent and can transfer their booking to a future Grand Voyage of a similar duration for free. Alternatively, affected passengers can rebook to any other cruise in the company’s global network, with either a partial refund or additional payment for the difference in price of the original booking or receive a full refund with no cancellation fee. In its statement, Virgin Voyages said that passengers on the former legs of the original repositioning voyage will have guaranteed spots on the new sailings at no additional cost and a price protection commitment in place. Cruisers also have the option to receive a future cruise credit based on their paid balance or a full refund. Complicating matters, Life at Sea Cruises informed customers that the retired ship intended for renovation had been purchased by another company. The company cited challenges due to investor withdrawals in a memo to customers from its parent company's CEO.

At that point, the ship's itinerary will sail south along the east coast of Africa before rounding the horn and coming up the western coast of the continent. Once in the Mediterranean, the ship will stop in Barcelona, Malta's Valletta, and Santorini before arriving in Athens (Piraeus). We will keep tabs on the situation as it develops, but if you have a cruise booked in this region it is best to reach out to your cruise line for all the latest information on changes and cancellations. Remember that 3-year-long cruise? It’s been cancelled, 1 week before departure

But "confidential clauses" prevented Life at Sea from publicly confirming its vessel of choice, Holmes told Business Insider in August. A three-year-long cruise meant to take travelers to 135 different countries across seven continents has been canceled. Miray and Life at Sea CEO Kendra Holmes resigned from the company in November, according to CNN, which also reported that she is behind a new start up world cruise under the HLC Cruises banner. Miray and Life at Sea cruises are also offering customers who bought into the original cruise a separate, shorter free cruise next summer.

They also told ABC News that those who have already paid will have a cabin waiting when the ship is ready. In March, Life at Sea Cruises announced it was accepting reservations for its three-year cruise around the world. The ship was scheduled to set sail on November 30, with the original November 1 departure date having been rescheduled several times.

3-Year World Cruise Canceled 2 Weeks Before Departure Date.

Life at Sea Cruises (Miray Cruises Turkey's new cruise travel brand) canceled its 3-year Around the World Voyage leaving customers in a state of frustration and disarray. The Life at Sea Cruises journey first started accepting reservations earlier this year with cabins starting at $29,999 per year. That, however, is little solace to those who sold or rented out their homes and ditched a bunch of their possessions ahead of the cruise.

The company also informed customers earlier this month that the retired cruise ship they planned to buy and renovate ahead of their departure had been bought by another company. The sailing was originally going to take place on the MV Gemini ship, but Life at Sea later reportedly set its sights on the larger former AIDA Cruises ship AIDAaura. However, Celestyal Cruises announced earlier this month that it had acquired that vessel. Life at Sea Cruises initially announced the three-year voyage in March and took on additional passengers in June. But after twice delaying the initial Nov. 1 departure date, it cancelled it altogether on Nov. 17, reports CNN. That’s leaving many passengers without a place to call home and some stuck in Istanbul, from where the cruise was set to depart.

Other destination options being offered aboard Windstar’s ships are Caribbean, Tahiti, Costa Rica and Panama. Windstar Cruises, which was to deploy its Star Legend on its first series of Middle East voyages next month from Dubai, sent a note to passengers on October 16 advising them that their cruises had been canceled. "Miray is not such a big company to afford to pay million [dollars] for a ship," he said, adding that while the company made a down payment, investors "declined to support us further due to unrest in the Middle East." While the cruise is canceled, some passengers are still in Istanbul, where the ship was set to originally leave Nov. 1 before the departure location was changed to Amsterdam. For travelers who were already in Istanbul, from where the ship was previously planned to set sail, Life at Sea will reimburse their hotels until December 1 and "subsequent travel expenses," the statement said. This means at least some investors who had offered to help fund the purchase of the vessel likely have backed out.

Would-be cruisers - who wanted to remain anonymous until their refunds come through - have told CNN of their shock and dismay that the trip has been canceled. Celebrity Apex was en-route to Haifa before altering course to dock in Limassol, Cyprus. MSC is offering passengers the option to move to a new sailing or cancel for a full refund. The line becomes the third cruise operator to fully pull its ships out of the region due to the ongoing conflict. CNN reports that passengers faced “weeks of silence” from Life at Sea Cruises and at least two postponements since the beginning of the month. The big ship was originally scheduled to leave port on Nov. 1, which was first postponed to Nov. 11 and then Nov. 30.

world cruise canceled

Aboard the yet-to-be-acquired vessel, the company had promised staterooms with per-day costs cheaper than many mass-market world cruise itineraries. Also set to be included were wellness and business centers, Starlink WiFi, and a hospital. But Life at Sea still has yet to acquire a vessel it would use for the around-the-world itinerary that was set to sail next week.

Others say they have nowhere to return to, having sold or rented out their homes in anticipation of the round-the-world voyage, as well as jettisoning their possessions. The cruise was originally due to depart Istanbul, Turkey, on November 1, but shortly before that date, departure was postponed to November 11 and relocated to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and then to November 30, again from Amsterdam. But on November 17 - less than two weeks before the third departure date - passengers were informed the cruise was off. A November 19 statement to customers from Miray's CEO Vedat Ugurlu apologized for the inconvenience, but said the company was "actively working on creating alternative plans for the future, ensuring an unforgettable experience for our valued community." Life at Sea Cruises is now committed to refunding the minimum US$115,500 per person package, with monthly refund installments starting mid-December. The company is also offering to cover accommodation expenses until December 1st and provide flights for passengers who had already arrived in Istanbul, the intended departure destination.

“We both wanted to see the world, and this seemed like a cheap way to do this,” he said. Prices started at just under $30,000 per year for each guest based on double occupancy when the cruise was announced earlier this year, including meals, drinks, Wi-Fi and more. Witman says the company has begun the refund process, accepting her requests for other expenses to be paid, from airfare to the costs of foreign visas.

"In case we weren't clear, the Life at Sea cruise trip is canceled," Bayramoglu wrote, giving instructions on the refund process, and how passengers can retrieve "pods" full of their belongings - which they'd shipped in advance of the cruise. MSC Cruises, which maintains a strong presence in the Arabian Gulf with cruises aboard MSC Opera, also told Cruise Critic in an email that those voyages – which operate far removed geographically from the current conflict – would continue as planned. Viking notes its river cruise departures along the Nile in Egypt are still proceeding as planned, with the cancellation of select overland extensions to Jerusalem. With the conflict continuing to escalate – and the increased possibility it could spread beyond the borders of Israel and the Gaza Strip – cruisers are starting to wonder what may become of their cruises to the region in the coming months. A Windstar spokesperson told Cruise Critic, “Windstar staff are contacting all booked guests with an offer to move their sailing to a 2024 date.

Whale Watching San Diego Sailboat Tours & Private Yacht Charters Great Reviews

whale cruise san diego

Although the production of food could attract them to our coast at any time, recent years have shown a spike in Blue whale and Fin whale encounters throughout the summer and fall. Blue Whales are the largest animals to have ever existed on the planet and we are lucky enough to see the healthiest population around the world. Only 1% of the human population will ever be able to say that they’ve seen a Blue Whale. That means that we can drastically increase your chances of becoming part of that small percent!

Legacy Whale Watch Tours

The best time to take whale watching tours in San Diego is between mid-December and April during gray whale migration season. This is when over 20,000 gray whales travel from Alaska to warmer water in Baja California, Mexico, to give birth. However, this isn’t the only time to see whales in San Diego, and when to go depends largely on the types of whales you want to see most. Blue whales, the largest creatures on Earth and thought to be among the most endangered of the great whales, may be found off the coast of San Diego from mid-June through September. In fact, the largest group of blue whales in the world, some 2,000 to 3,000, feed off the California coast during the summer months.

The incredible connection with nature will leave a lasting impression. Whale watching in San Diego, California, is possible nearly year-round due to different whale species’ migratory patterns. The best time of the year to go whale watching in San Diego is from mid-December to April, which coincides with the Gray Whale migration.

There are a number of different ways to experience whale watching in San Diego. If you're interested in a closer look at these majestic creatures, a host of sightseeing and tour operators in San Diego offer a variety of whale watching excursions. This is also the best way to see a blue whale, as they tend to stay farther out to sea. A whale watching trip is also a fun oceanic adventure and affords great views of San Diego's beautiful skyline from a different point of view. Many of the tour operators have extensive knowledge of the whales and their migration habits and will happily share this information during the tour. This is definitely a recommended activity for all ages and a great addition to your San Diego itinerary during the winter/early spring and summer seasons.

Tourists who prefer a more private whale-watching experience opt for the sailboat. After giving birth to their young ones and watching them grow stronger in the warmer Baja California waters, the whales journey north again in spring. California locals and tourists worldwide love whale-watching cruises, which are entertaining and educational. We’re along the migration path of various whales that you’ll want to see. If you see any of the above behaviors, where to look next depends on when in the migration season you’re at. Look south if it’s gray whale season and they’re heading to Mexico, for example. Remember that whale-watching tours often include whale spotters, and the boats can move around the open waters along the California coastline to find roving pods. The best time to go whale watching in San Diego may also depend on weather conditions. We do enjoy pretty much year-round sunshine, and even a little rain may not impact your tour.

It’s a perfect stop for marine life enthusiasts and budding oceanographers, or anyone who wants to enjoy a fun family day out. There are hands-on exhibits and more than 60 fish and invertebrate habitats. If some type of whale is not sighted on your whale watching cruise, you will receive a pass good to return for a Whale Watching Cruise or Harbor Cruise. As we cruise, we’ll see up-close views of the bay's wildlife as well as iconic landmarks from a new perspective. Onboard, our staff will provide live narration and details about the aquatic life and landmarks we pass for a truly memorable experience. We will primarily be looking for whales and a variety of dolphin/porpoise species, along with sea lions and birds.

In the summer and fall, the magnificent blue whale (the largest animal to have ever existed) passes by San Diego as part of the annual breeding and feeding migration. These large whales migrate further offshore, so you’ll need to go out on a cruise to see them. When booking San Diego tours or looking for things to do in San Diego with kids, definitely include taking a whale watching tour on your list. It’s one of our most popular outdoor activities, especially during the winter and early spring months.

We make every attempt to keep our content current, reliable and trustworthy. Whales are active all day (and night!), so any time is a good time to go on a whale-watching tour in San Diego. Many tourists wonder if they can see Dolphins during their whale-watching cruise. It is common to spot Dolphins in the San Diego Bay area throughout the year. The two-story whale-watching yacht has indoor and outdoor seating and 360-degree views. You can spot the knuckled ridge along the spine if you watch closely.

And between about December 1 and March 1 (depending on sightings), you can book a La Jolla whale watching kayak tour where guides will take you about 2 miles offshore to spot gray whales. The best times of the year to spot whales from land is mid-January to February when the gray whales are traveling south closer to shore. When you watch for whales from the shore, you may or may not spot any on a given day. If you are near the water during gray whale migration season, keep an eye out. Next Level Sailing offers the only “no seasickness guarantee” globally and boasts high whale spotting rates.

Describe the cabins. My two friends and I stayed in a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, which has a queen bed and a single convertible sofa, as well as a single pull-down bed; plenty of space for three women. The verandah had two chairs and was a quiet and lovely spot to watch the sunrise (if we were up early!) and the sunset. On Halloween and Very Merrytime Christmas cruises, costumes and holiday attire are encouraged — and make for great photos. Disney Dream offers 24-hour, self-service guest laundry facilities on Decks 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.

Family Went on Disney Wish Cruise, Worth It for $5,300 + Photos.

Our cruise departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida which is the most recent cruise port for the Disney Cruise Line in Florida. Since this port was still so new for Disney Cruise Line, we did experience a bit of confusion with ride share being unsure how to navigate to the drop off and pick up points for the cruise. I recently did a 5-day cruise on the Disney Dream with our ports of call being Cozumel, Mexico and Castaway Cay. This was a Marvel Day at Sea cruise which you can read more about in my review and guide to Marvel Day at Sea. I found it less pleasant for the adults trying to watch their little ones though. I’ve heard from some others who have read this blog that the crowds are much less on longer cruises.

How old is Disney Magic?

Down on Deck 4, the promenade features a walking or running track that goes all the way around the ship. Unlike the Oceaneer Club, where there is a formal check-in and checkout procedure, the tween club allows kids to come and go. If you don't want to give your 11- or 12-year-old that independence, then the Oceaneer Club and Lab are better suited for them than Edge.

Disney Dream restaurants and bars

The signature pecan tart was a nod to Thanksgiving on a Christmas-themed cruise. Mickey ice cream bars are the favorite dessert here; ice cream is also available, as well as a changing dessert such as a chocolate brownie with ice cream or white chocolate cheesecake. Each bathroom comes with a refillable hand soap dispenser; the shower room also offers bar soap and refillable containers of Disney brand shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the tub. The shower room has a full-length mirror on the back of the door, which is useful, but this means there are no hooks on the door to hang extra items. There are, however, two retractable clotheslines in the shower and two large hooks on the wall between the bathroom and the sleeping area.

Is Sailing with Disney Cruise Line Worth It?

If you can sneak away for a couple hours, it's a lovely way to enjoy a relaxed, quiet, kid-free meal without missing one of the featured rotational restaurants. It's also good value, leading some people to claim it's the best $50 you can spend on a Disney cruise. Yet Disney Dream's sailings are priced higher than most family-friendly cruise ships because the Disney brand commands a premium.

To say I was excited for our trip is a dramatic understatement, and the experience largely lived up to my highest expectations. Then, learn how to save on your next vacation with our Disney discounts. Thankfully, even though we got a slightly later start than we had intended, due to the ship’s low occupancy, finding and keeping loungers was surprisingly simple.

The result is that lines are long, and it's tricky to navigate through (say, if you're walking from the beverage station back to your table). This is especially true if you get stuck behind slow-moving, unpredictable small children who are somehow impossible to get around. For dinner in Palo, choose from the $50 fixed-price menu (a four-course meal with limited options for each), upgrade to the wine-paired menu or order a la carte from the full menu.

If you plan on splurging, consider packing a foldable duffle that you can fill with all your souvenirs for the trip home. A buffet of finger foods is put out for an hour each evening to help soak up all that alcohol. On Deck 3, the Bon Voyage bar is tucked to one side of the midship elevator banks, between the Grand Lobby and the shopping area. If the free treats on this ship aren't enough (which is a concept that's difficult to grasp), you can splurge at Vanellope's Sweet Treats. Indulge with extra-fee ice cream and gelato, crazy sundaes, cupcakes and other baked goods and candy. At lunch, you can find pizza and burgers, an array of hot entrees, soup, premade salads, a huge stash of shrimp and crab legs, pasta, deli meat and desserts (including ice cream).

Disney Wonder Restaurants Have Rotational Dining -- and There are Extra Fee Options Too

These dining rooms have their own unique themes, menu offerings and specialty drinks, and waiters even wear different uniforms for each room. In the past, Disney provided two-way phones in staterooms to allow family members to keep track of one another, but these were absent on our Disney Wonder sailing. Instead, Disney's new Navigator app allows passengers to chat with one another, and we found the internet even allowed for iMessages to be sent to one another -- even when logged out of the ship's paid internet plans. The bright-yellow Mickey's Pool Slide and Splash Zone are perfect for the little ones (and, let's face it, adults love the waterslide too). Launched in 1999 as Disney Cruise Line's second newbuild, the 2,400-passenger Disney Wonder still manages to impress even two decades into its career.

Every menu is divided into appetizers, soups and salads, main courses, vegetarian options, lighter options and dessert (which always includes an ice cream sundae and a sugar-free option). Obviously, families with young children make up a large fraction of Disney Dream's passenger base. You'll find babies, kids and teens, as well as three-generation groups and extended family or friend groups. Yet the ship also attracts adults who are Disney fans or appreciate Disney's entertainment and service.

Bring your own refillable drink containers to avoid waste because the poolside stations only offer paper cups, not reusable glasses and mugs. Throughout the cruise, passengers rotate through three complimentary dining venues, and your serving team joins you in the different restaurants each night. Other dining options include the extra-fee, adults-only restaurant, Disney Cruise Line's dedicated Italian restaurant. Finally, the ship has bars and an entire area devoted to adults, though kids can enter some of these spaces at times.

And, unless your heart is made of stone, you'll melt at the characters, all pros at child-wrangling, who embrace the outgoing and coax the timid into pictures of a lifetime. It would also be a real plus if Disney Magic integrated a magical scavenger hunt type of activity that you see on other Disney ships. This would layer in one more thing for the kids to do on a sea day or between other activities.

It was time for the fun to officially begin with the "Sail Away" party. If you have the Disney Visa, you can save on board with discounts on spa treatments, Castaway Cay packages and photo packages. However, in terms of earning or using points, the Disney Visa isn't actually the best card out there, even for a Disney cruise. Almost a year ago, we had a successful sailing on the Disney Dream out of Florida, so we booked another Disney cruise to start 2020. This time we only needed a two-hour drive from home in Houston to hop aboard the ship in the Port of Galveston. No airplanes were involved on our journey across the sea to Mexico on the Disney Wonder, one of the two original ships in Disney's fleet.

Disney Cruise Ships in Galveston

Disney Magic sails a mix of four- to six-night voyages from Galveston to Mexico. Shorter voyages typically visit Progreso, Mexico, while longer sailings add a stop in Cozumel. Like all Disney ships, Disney Magic boasts many cabins with split bathrooms — a boon for families. That's not something you'll find on any of the other Galveston-based cruise vessels. If either of those two attractions is a must-have for your next cruise out of Galveston, you'll want to book the Harmony of the Seas sailings that start in November. Harmony of the Seas will operate the same itinerary as Allure of the Seas does now.

Allure of the Seas sails out of Galveston every Sunday on seven-night voyages to the Western Caribbean. Designed specifically to appeal to families, the world's fifth-largest cruise vessel is chock-full of more family-friendly activity zones than just about any other cruise ship at sea. While the schedule changes from time to time, the Disney Magic has been the ship seen in Galveston over the last few years, and for the foreseeable future. The Magic is one of Disney’s smallest ships, but no less magical than the newer ones. Booking your parking spot in advance is highly recommended as availability may be limited during peak travel times. You can easily reserve a space online through the Port of Galveston website.
